I went to the funeral in Bristol with the other friends of Greg from Cardiff days - Tad, Mick and Phil. Bird song was continuously played. Ben Woodhams gave a warm personal account of working with Greg on their painting course in Scotland. Greg's partner Susan said Greg used to play the jazz standard 'A good man is hard to find' on piano. And he was a good man.
After the funeral I visited his workshop in the garden, and looked through some of the sketches and comments that he made daily in his notebooks. Always experimenting, continually improving.
It's now time for us to follow his example.
