Android in the snow

November, the cruelest month, has passed - and with December comes early snow, covering the terrace before the herbs have been cut back. Having been abandoned by Bill Gates, I abandoned my Windows phone and bought my first Android - as he has done - and pressed the virtual shutter for the first time.

Next door neighbour Dan and I took a Sunday lunchtime walk above the house to Blueme. Up here, on clear winter days, the sky and lake are bleached pale azure - and the low sun castes shaping shadows in footprints, hay barns, and snow-powdered trees.
